Appreciation from patient’s family:<\/strong><\/p>\nI had waited until I got to Hong Kong to thank you and your colleagues at the Haven of Hope Holistic (Care) Centre for the excellent palliative care given to my half-sister, Leung Fung Ha, during her stay from 19 October to 22 December 2009.
\nThanks to that, my sister was in a stable condition most of that period, and slipped away just after one day when her condition worsened. I believe she was as comfortable as could be hoped for under the circumstances. You have a splendid team of doctors and nurses \u2013 so professional and caring \u2013 of whom you can be justly proud. Hong Kong could do with many more such centres. My decision to move my sister to the HCC after her stay at the Tseung Kwan O Hospital was the right one. The difference in the quality of the medical and nursing care could not have been more marked.<\/p>\n

To my knowledge, SASHCC has committed to work with the JCECC project not only to provide and improve the quality of end-life care through innovating and demonstrating its service model, but also enhancing the capacity of service providers as well as public awareness.
\nIn view of the rapidly rising prevalence of cancers and other chronic irreversible illnesses amidst the ageing population, I put in my strongest support and look forward to the completion of the Extension Block Project of the SASHCC to meet the cogent need of quality Palliative Care and Elderly Care in the community. I pray that there could be more Holistic Palliative Care service in Hong Kong so that more patients could pass away with dignity and peace.<\/p>\n
